Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) is enabled to enhance the security of your account and you will be required to use it when accessing your student email. This process involves verifying your identity through your phone or another trusted device, takes less than a minute to set up, and provides important protection against unauthorized access.
Follow the steps below to enable MFA on your account:

1. Go to AccessRio to open your email or https://outlook.office.com.
Enter in your current Rio Hondo email. |

| 2. Enter in your Password. | |
| 3. Now setup Multi-Factor Authentication. Click Next to continue. | |
| 4. Verify your account using the Microsoft Authenticator app on your mobile device. If you do not have it installed, download it from the appropriate app store. Select Next to continue. | |
| 5. Set up your account in authentication app on your mobile device. Click Next | |
| 6. Keep this QR code while you set up the authenticator app on your mobile device. | |

7. After downloading the authenticator app on your mobile device, open the app and select Add work or school account. (If you are already using the authenticator app with other accounts, you may need to select the Plus(+) in the upper right corner to add a new account.) |

| 8. Select Scan a QR code. | |
| 9. Scan the QR code on the computer with your phone. Allow the app permission to use your camera. Tap Confirm | |
| 10. Approve the sign in request by entering the number shown on the computer screen in your phone and clicking Yes | |
|
11. After approving, a confirmation screen showing that Microsoft Authenticator has been successfully added as the default sign‑in method will appear.
You have now added MFA when logging into your account.
